Founded during the XIXth century by Eugène Léon Ropp, the famous company has always reflected the know-how of French craftsmanship when it comes to pipe making. Ropp pipes were at first made with cherry wood, and a few years later the firm started to use briar. Since 1991 (year in which the company had to close its doors because of too strong competition), it is the company Chapuis-Comoy that manufactures Ropp pipes.
