Ropp
The story of the company Ropp starts in 1869 when cherry wood pipes were becoming very popular among smokers. The company, founded by Eugene Leon Ropp in the Doubs region (East of France), employed at the time more than 100 craftspeople and pipe-makers. It even filed patents to develop the smoothest and most pleasant-to-smoke pipes. In 1917, the workshops moved to Saint-Claude and the company started making briar wood pipes.
