Ropp: one of the oldest French pipe brands, now revived by Chacom

Founded in 1869, Ropp is one of the oldest French pipe brands. At the beginning, the firm of mister Eugène Léon Ropp only made pipes with cherry wood. The company, initially based in the Vosges, relocated to Baume-les-Dames (Doubs, France) to make briar pipes. However, after a few decades, the company had to close its doors because of too strong competition. Nowadays, Ropp pipes still exist since Chapuis-Comoy continues to manufacture beautiful creations of the brand.
