The "Eltang Basic" is the line that represents Tom Eltang's style the best. Conceived in his Copenhagen-based workshop, pipes from this original series are made as follow: a bowl made of Mediterranean briar (smooth, sandblasted or rusticated finish depending on the model), a shank made of carbon fiber (heat-resistant and easy to maintain with a pipe-cleaner) and an acryl stem (crafted in Italy according to precise specifications then hand-finished by Tom).

The Tom Eltang Basic is a poker-shaped pipe. This shape is particularly handy, as it makes it possible for the pipe to be put down anywhere, without needing to use a pipe-stand. Furthermore, this model is pre-caked: a thin layer of carbon protects the bowl's inside, which will make it easier to smoke in the first few times.
