First of all, the ebauchons have to naturally dry for more than 3 years (so that the pipe is very pleasant to smoke). Then, there are at least 90 different steps before a Savinelli Punto Oro pipe is ready to be smoked. You actually have to know that only 1.2% of the ebauchons used by Savinelli to make pipes can be used for this collection that regroups pipes of the greatest quality (which also explains why there are so few different pipe shapes available in this collection).
Punto Oro pipes (meaning "golden dot") were the first pipes manufactured by Achille Savinelli when the factory opened in 1958. Be careful not to mistake it with the Giubelo d'Oro pipes (which have 3 golden dots). Punto Oro pipes perfectly reflect the brand Savinelli through their elegance and reliability. Over the years, Savinelli Punto Oro pipes had different finishes (smooth or sandblasted): Super, Gold, Natural or Classic.
