Lovat

The Lovat shape has two indivisible characteristics: a particularly long rounded shank, coupled with a short whistle shaped stem also called saddle stem. The whistle shape of the stem is actually the only element that distinguishes it from the Canadian pipe shape (the latter having a classical stem). Apart from that, they have the exact same silhouettes. Be assured that smoking a Lovat pipe is a real privilege! Indeed, its production is rare because it asks for the craftspeople to find an ebauchon big enough and of good quality, allowing them to sculpt a long shank. When it comes to the proportions, it is often said  that the shank should be twice as long as the height of the bowl itself. Smokers greatly appreciate Lovat pipes because the smoke seems to be smoother in mouth, thanks to the length of the shank. Generally, the Lovat has the specificity to always be of a straight shape (like a classical billiard), to be of a pleasant grip, and to be easy to smoke.
